A birthday song with their name in it

A Sungto birthday song is written from what you tell it about one person: their name, who they are to you and up to five details. Its AI writes the lyrics and you read and change them. In the iPhone app the finished, sung song arrives in about two minutes; on the web you can write the lyrics today.

Lyrics drafts are free on the web. The iPhone app includes a free first song and needs iOS 26 or later.

Ideas

What to put in a birthday song

  • The year they are turning
  • A joke only your family gets
  • The thing they always forget
  • How they laugh before the punchline
  • A habit everyone teases them about
  • What this year meant
  • A place they love
  • The thing you wish for them

Three steps

  1. Tell us who it is for

Their name, who they are to you and the occasion.

  2. Read the lyrics

Change a line or add a detail. Nothing is sung until you say so.

  3. Hear it and send it

Songs are finished in the iPhone app today; the web is coming soon.

Genres that suit

Pick one to start with. The language, genre, mood and voice carry over to the song maker.

Not “Happy Birthday” with a name dropped in

You give Sungto their name, who they are to you, and up to five small details: the joke only your family gets, the way they laugh before the punchline, the thing they always forget. The lyrics are written from those details, so the chorus is about one person and nobody else.

Chloe’s example song was made for a girlfriend’s birthday from three details, one of them that she laughs at her own jokes before the punchline.

Milestone birthdays

An 18th, a 21st, a 40th, a 70th: the details change, and so does the song. Layla’s example was made for turning 18, the month after she passed her driving test and the summer before university. Mention what this year meant and the lyrics will carry it.

Pick how it sounds

Choose a genre, a mood and a voice, in English or one of seven other languages. A funny rock song for a little brother and a calm jazz song for a grandmother come from the same three answers.

Questions about a birthday song

How long does a birthday song take to make?

About two minutes in the iPhone app, after you read the lyrics. On the web you can write the lyrics today; finished songs there are coming soon.

Is the first birthday song free?

In the iPhone app, yes: your first song is free. After that, packs start at $9.99 for one song.

Can I put inside jokes and memories in the song?

Yes. Add up to five details and the lyrics are written from them. You read and change the lyrics before the song is made.

Will it pronounce their name correctly?

Their name is respelled for the singer, so the one word the whole song is about comes out right.

Can I send the birthday song on WhatsApp?

Yes. Every song gets its own link that plays anywhere, and you can download the audio too.
